How to Work With Your Curves

Dress for the size you are—not what you want to be or once were! Work with what you have! Own it.

1.Dress from the inside out. A well-fitting bra and shapewear will camouflage all lumps and bumps.

2.Clothes should skim your body, not cling to it like sausage casing! Think high-waist, wide trousers, and A-line or flared skirts.

3.Don’t cover your curves! Big clothes on big bodies only make you look bigger.

4.Skirts should end just before or under the kneecap. Your legs will look longer.

5.Shorter, fitted jackets will also flatter your legs—and waist.

6.Avoid elasticized waistbands. They might be comfortable, but they add bulk to your midsection.

7.Keep necklines open. A deep V- or scoop neck lengthens your neck.

8. A dress with a belt will cinch you in, focusing attention on your smaller waist.

9.Wide feet need to be counterbalanced with wide heels. A thinner heel only draws attention to your

Never full of vintage style

Some accessories are born to become icons, like my Louis Vuitton Neverfull Damier Ebene that has been my loyal companion in my trips and adventures all over the world.
“Her traveller destiny” was already written: I saw “her” for the first time in the windows of the 5th avenue Louis Vuitton store in one of my first trips to New York, I admired it and thought about reasons to avoid trying it on. Of course I didnt find any of them: five minutes later I looked at ourselves together in the mirror for the first time, and I understood that some relationships really start with love at first sight.
In these four years together she’s has been everywhere with me: from Thailand to Los Angeles, from Brazil to Tokyo, never tired and always ready to make me feel chic in a second, even after twelve hours of flying.
And here “she” is again with me, in a new Louis Vuitton adventure (do you remember about my Speedy adventures?): this time my Neverfull Damier Ebene poses with me in front of the camera in the iconic Forte Dei Marmi.
The photos are shot at Hotel Augustus, hystorical location which became popular in the 50s and 60s, years that inspired this photoshoot.
My Neverfull also managed to do this: “she” stopped the time and made me feel like a pinup from the 50s.
It’s all written in “her” name: she’s never full and always ready for new surprises.
Certi oggetti nascono per diventare un’icona, come la mia Louis Vuitton Neverfull Damier Ebene che da anni mi accompagna nei miei viaggi ed avventure in giro per il mondo.
Il “suo destino” da viaggiatrice era d’altronde gia’ stabilito sin dall’inizio: l’ho vista per la prima volta nella vetrina dello store di 5th Avenue in uno dei miei primi viaggi a New York, l’ho ammirata e ho cercato di pensare a qualche buona ragione per cui non entrare a provarla.
Motivi per cui non farlo naturalmente non ce n’erano: cinque minuti dopo la vedevo per la prima volta insieme a me, e capivo che certi rapporti nascono veramente cosi, con un colpo di fulmine che ti fa battere il cuore.
In questi quattro anni insieme lei ha sempre viaggiato con me: dalla Thailandia a Los Angeles, dal Brasile a Tokyo, mai stanca e sempre pronta a farmi sentire subito chic, anche dopo un volo aereo di dodici ore.
Ed eccola ancora qui con me, in una nuova avventura firmata Louis Vuitton (vi ricordate le mie avventure con la Speedy?): questa volta la mia Neverfull Damier Ebene posa insieme a me davanti all’obbiettivo nell’iconica Forte Dei Marmi, luogo di villeggiatura da sempre sinonimo di quiete e di eleganza.
Le foto sono state scattate all’Hotel Augustus, location storica che ha visto il successo negli anni ’50 e ’60 e a cui naturalmente queste foto sono ispirate.
La mia Neverfull e’riuscita anche in questo: ha fermato il tempo e mi ha fatta sentire una vera pinup anni ’50.
D’altronde e’ gia’ tutto scritto nel suo nome: da sempre e’ “never-full” e piena di sorprese.
